Our Story
My name was originally supposed to be Solveig (pronounced SOL-vae), a family name that translates to "sunshine way" and, more powerfully, “woman of the house”.
I was raised on Kauai with a mixed drawer of bikinis and sports bras. I loved how comfortable luxe swimwear felt, but needed sports bra grade coverage for water/snow sports and teaching fitness. Local shops offered men hybrid shorts designed for both land and water. So I got to work creating a hybrid sports bra for women.
It's been a long road collaborating with design experts, testing prototypes, securing USA manufacturing, and creating a carbon neutral brand. I learned how to do the latter while advising Fortune 500 corporations on sustainability.
I'm deeply grateful you're here—thank YOU! I'm here to offer you thoughtful, game-changing support and a hybrid sports bra that keeps up with experiences as versatile as you.

Thoughtfully Curated Approach

Our machine-washable silhouettes are designed in Hawaii from athletic experiences. Our lead pattern-maker in Baltimore has collaborated with Coach, Lululemon, Adidas and more for trusted results.

We are carbon neutral for 2021-22 and goal-oriented. We actively measure our impact, seek reduction, and currently invest in third-party verified carbon offset projects.

Our styles are proudly manufactured and developed in Maryland, USA. The factory was established in 1976, pays above minimum wage, and has low turnover.

We utilize ECONYL® fiber, made in Italy and regenerated from fishing nets and other discarded materials. It's infinitely recyclable, OEKO-TEX certified, and has 90% less impact.

SOL VAE is woman-owned and passionate about collaborating with female businesses. 44% of our supply chain is currently woman-owned, and 22% of the total is owned by diverse women.

We never edit or Photoshop a human body. Our products and communications intend to be authentic, meaningful, and rooted in credible resources.
